My new chapter has nothing to do with New Year’s resolutions – I stopped making those years ago, and am much further ahead on my goals because of it. There was no getting overwhelmed or feeling like I failed.
I set goals for each day, week and month that are achievable through consistent effort and action.
Using a method that works for me, allowed me to finish my memoir this year. With the help of MIGHT, I set aside writing time every day, sometimes just for twenty minutes – but I did it consistently.
Finishing the book was a priority for me, so I treated it like one. Even when I could only dedicate twenty minutes, it put me one step closer to finishing. Now, I’m on to the next chapter. I’ve submitted the manuscript to my editor and will be working on polishing it into something that I am proud to put out into the world. I couldn’t have done it without the support from my family and friends, and the community at MIGHT.
I’m excited to go into 2015 to see where the next chapter will take me. What are YOU excited about for the year ahead?by
